Is the $199 a one-time charge or a subscription?

One-time, per provisional. You pay once, we generate and deliver the USPTO-ready ZIP, and that's the end of the transaction. The only subscription we offer is Pro at $29/month, which gives you a $50 discount on each subsequent draft and access to /manage portfolio tracking.

What's included in the $199?

A full provisional specification (1,500–2,500 words, Word + PDF), claims document (1 independent + 8–15 dependent), abstract (under 150 words), SB/16 cover sheet + ADS + SB/15A micro-entity forms pre-filled from your inventor info, and an adversarial review flagging examiner-likely objections. All bundled in a ZIP you can upload to the USPTO Patent Center directly.

Do I still need a lawyer?

We recommend you have a registered patent practitioner review the generated draft for an hour ($250–$500 typical rate) before filing. That covers claim-scope strategy and §101 patent-eligibility judgment — the pieces AI can't reliably handle. The math still works out: $199 + $500 + $65 USPTO fee = ~$765 all-in, versus $2,500–$5,000 for a traditional attorney-drafted provisional.

How fast do I get the ZIP?

Under 24 hours. The generation step runs automatically after your Stripe checkout completes — our fulfillment webhook calls Claude Sonnet 4.5 for the spec, claims, and abstract in parallel (~20–40 seconds), then emails you the link. Typical end-to-end time is 2–5 minutes.

Can I refund if the draft doesn't fit my invention?

Yes, within 7 days of delivery. If our generated draft doesn't substantively describe what you disclosed — e.g. the spec is about something else, or the claims don't reference your key mechanism — email support@50search.com and we'll regenerate or refund. We do not refund for stylistic preferences or for drafts that accurately reflect a disclosure the inventor later wants to revise.

Will my disclosure stay confidential?

Yes. Your disclosure is stored encrypted in our Supabase database and used only to generate your draft. We never send it to third-party training pipelines. After you file, you can make the disclosure public (many inventors publish on GitHub or a blog) — before filing, treat anything sent to 50search as a pre-filing disclosure for §102(b) purposes (the 12-month grace period starts when you publish, not when we generate your draft).
